Daisy Peacock's "Girlbestfriend"

By Bethany M
British pop artist, Daisy Peacock, is breaking into the UK music scene with her newest single "Girlbestfriend," on November 27th via AWAL. Daisy is perfect for fans of Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Maisie Peters, Nieve Ella, and Alessi Rose. Originally based in Sheffield, Daisy was exposed to a wide range of music starting from a young age. Now she is based in Birmingham for university and expanding her artistic capabilities.
"Girlbestfriend," a song about the experiences she has experienced her first year at university and talking to someone with a best girl friend who turned out to be an ex. Daisy explains, "I wrote the song very quickly after that - it was just a bit of a rage reliever in the moment!" This track is a perfect example of her upbeat and diverse discography. Similar to Olivia Rodrigo, she turns rage into the perfect upbeat vengeful song anyone can relate to.
Daisy debuted in the pop scene in 2023, with her single "You Don't Want Me Enough," which reached the top 10 spots on both the Song Academy's Youth Songwriter Competition and Citrus Record's Songs of the Year. She has also received praise from BBC Introducing in West Midlands, Coventry, and Warwickshire. Counteract Magazine called Peacock, "A Funky 90s Indie Rock Machine with Alanis Morissette Vibes," which we completely agree with. For any fangirl who wants to discover a rising star, be sure to listen to "Girlbestfriend" on November 27th.
