Francene Rouelle defines growth through “september bby”

By Bethany M
"I hate to break it to you, but I am changing." Austin-based pop artist Francene Rouelle has released her newest single, "september bby," on Friday, March 13. In her newest era defined by change and opportunity, "september bby" is a powerful anthem about moving on from your past and looking toward the future. Everyone can learn a life lesson from its deeply heartfelt and relatable lyrics about understanding the change and growth that come with growing up.
Coming off the fresh release of her debut album Off the Carousel, Rouelle is ready to break into the industry. This release showcases a change in artistry from her previous works and acknowledges that change is necessary to grow both artistically and mentally. Although this track defines a new era of Francene's artistry, the vocals and visuals still perfectly encapsulate her style. Known for her bold hyperpop songs, "september bby" resonates with her fanbase through sharp vocals, intense beats, and deeply emotional lyrics. Francene herself said this song came naturally to her. She states, "This was the quickest song I've ever written. It came from a place of trying to summon that creative feeling of not giving a fuck and just following your gut."
As the first single of her upcoming sophomore album, this release serves as a catalyst for her new artistic era, highlighting change during times of heartbreak. Fans of artists such as Esha Tewari, Beabadoobee, and Phoebe Bridgers would love Francene, but almost anyone can relate to the lyrics in her music.
As a Texas-based singer-songwriter signed to Texas' first and only Asian American record label, Francene is on track to achieve great success. She previously performed in a local spotlight series ahead of Tate McCrae's Miss Possessive Tour in Austin last fall and was selected to guest speak at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. She is also set to perform and speak at various venues and events across Texas, mainly in Austin, within the next few months.
Make sure to have Rouelle on your 2026 radar and expect a full project toward the end of the year. Don't forget to stream "september bby" now.
